Before heading on a big adventure to North Queensland, I stopped in the Great Southern of WA to spend some time with my family.
My Aunty had a perfect project for me; paint their new, plain, not even painted door.
By the time I got out to the farm, my aunty had painted the base coat, so it wasn't as daunting. All I had to do was add some scribbles. Discussion went on and uncertainty of the design lingered. I wasn't 100% sure on this idea, but was willing to make it happen.
We landed on a squid, the perfect shape for this door.
Now to begin painting.
It was a flop. The paint wasn't sticking to the surface, making it incredibly hard to find a flow. Next option, Posca pens.. the ones that had been sitting in my pencil case for over a year, there wasn't too much ink left in them but I still tried. Patience running thin.
Aunty came to the rescue and offered to take me to the shops and buy the exact markers I needed.
Success.
The squid had finally begun.
With help and company of my cousin and other family members passing by to top up my gin. The squid was finished in no time. Bringing the door and games room to life.
